Vom Ron is located on a 90 acre hill country farm in Western North Carolina. Our philosophy is to preserve the German Shepherd AS IT WAS CREATED and intended to be. Our dogs are all worked daily in obedience, tracking and protection.

Daily they are turned out in large exercise yards to promote excellent physical and mental condition. We do not have staff that manages the dogs, they are totally cared for by the family. This way we know the dogs intimately, every facet of their character is known. Frequently they are taken on long walks thru the woods to play freely and romp in the creek. They see deer and wild turkeys, smell good woodsy smells and generally enjoy a dog’s life.

The dogs are fed an excellent diet, rich in raw meat and essential nutrients. They are kept extremely clean with no parasites (fleas or worms). We do not believe that dogs should smell dirty. They look and smell clean not because of bathing but because their quarters are clean. All have rich color and shiny eyes and coats.

The puppies are carefully raised and socialized. They are named early and learn to respond to their individual names. Their early training and socialization is carried on daily. Whether they are with us for only 10 weeks or for 10 months they will be trained appropriately for their age.

We do not always have puppies. Each litter is carefully planned and even more carefully developed into the best German Shepherd dog possible. There is only one or two litters per year and the puppies are given every opportunity to fulfill their potential.
